1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Lifemap mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Lifemap reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

Lifemap is a personal growth and life-design application that provides:

  • Guided self-reflection exercises and journaling prompts
  • Personal value discovery and clarification tools
  • Goal setting and action planning features
  • AI-powered coaching and insights (via "Iko")
  • Progress tracking and milestone celebrations

Lifemap is designed as a self-help tool and is not a substitute for professional mental health services, therapy, or medical advice.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use Lifemap. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to use the App.

4. User Content

4.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create within the App, including journal entries, reflections, goals, and personal data ("User Content"). By using the App, you grant Lifemap a limited license to store and process your User Content solely to provide the service.

4.2 Privacy of User Content

Your User Content is private by default. We do not share your personal reflections or journal entries with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy or with your explicit consent.

4.3 Prohibited Content

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates others' rights
  • Harass, abuse, or harm another person
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems

5. AI Features and Limitations

Lifemap includes AI-powered features ("Iko") that provide personalized insights and suggestions. You acknowledge that:

  • AI responses are generated algorithmically and may not always be accurate
  • AI features are not a replacement for professional advice
  • You should not rely solely on AI suggestions for important life decisions
  • We continually improve our AI, which may result in changes to its responses

6. Subscriptions and Payments

6.1 Free and Premium Features

Lifemap offers both free and premium subscription plans. Premium features require an active subscription, which is billed through your app store account (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).

6.2 Billing

Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on your selected plan). Your subscription will automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

6.3 Refunds

Refund requests are handled through your respective app store in accordance with their refund policies. Lifemap does not directly process refunds.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, content, and underlying technology, is owned by Lifemap and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App without our prior written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.

LIFEMAP DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, OR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. THE APP IS FOR INFORMATIONAL AND SELF-IMPROVEMENT PURPOSES ONLY.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIFEMAP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the App settings. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the App or other users.

11. Apple App Store Terms

The following terms apply to your use of Lifemap downloaded from the Apple App Store:

11.1 Acknowledgement

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Lifemap only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Lifemap, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.

11.2 Scope of License

The license granted to you for the App is a non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You may not:

  • Distribute or make the App available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time
  • Transfer, redistribute, or sublicense the App
  • Copy, reverse-engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, modify, or create derivative works of the App

11.3 Consent to Use of Data

You agree that Lifemap may collect and use technical data and related information—including but not limited to technical information about your device, system and application software, and peripherals—that is gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates, product support, and other services related to the App. This information may be used to improve products or provide services, as long as it is in a form that does not personally identify you.

11.4 External Services

The App may enable access to third-party services and websites. You agree to use such External Services at your sole risk. Lifemap is not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy of any third-party External Services, and shall not be liable for any such services. You will not use the External Services in any manner that is inconsistent with these Terms or that infringes the intellectual property rights of any party.

11.5 No Warranty

YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP AND ANY SERVICES PERFORMED OR PROVIDED BY THE APP ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. LIFEMAP HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE APP AND ANY SERVICES, EITHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS.

11.6 Limitation of Liability

TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LIFEMAP BE LIABLE FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, HOWEVER CAUSED, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY AND EVEN IF LIFEMAP HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL LIFEMAP'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00).

11.7 Export Compliance

You may not use or otherwise export or re-export the App except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App was obtained. The App may not be exported or re-exported (a) into any U.S.-embargoed countries or (b) to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department's Specially Designated Nationals List or the U.S. Department of Commerce Denied Persons List or Entity List.

11.8 Third-Party Beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to the App, and that upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.

11.9 Product Claims

Lifemap, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims you or any third party may have relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

11.10 Intellectual Property Claims

In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Lifemap, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Lisbon, Portugal.

For users accessing the App through the Apple App Store who are citizens of European Union countries, Switzerland, Norway, or Iceland, the governing law and forum shall be the laws and courts of your usual place of residence.
